The Spinnaker will close from, Sunday March 15th, at 7pm due to Covid-19.
I would like to thank my team ( team spinnaker ) for all that they do and for their understanding. Thank you to all my customers , your support is always appreciated.

Located in the lower village of Dunmore East, the Spinnaker Bar & Restaurant is romantically reminiscent of former times, with old stone walls, wooden and flagstone floors, stained glass and a hint of the monastic origin in some of the woodwork and furnishings. Old style mirrors and artifacts are theme-consciously displaced. In winter the crackling log fire would warm the cockles of even the hardest heart!
The Spinnaker Bar & Restaurant “Serving Food” prides itself on good quality food served in the relaxed informal atmosphere that is the Spinnaker Bar. Spinnaker’s Seafood Chowder: a signature dish associated direct with the Spinnaker Bar & Restaurant, simply a must have when dining at the Spinnaker, or visiting Dunmore East. It is packed full of goodies, an ideal lunch time favourite accompanied by an open prawn or smoked salmon sandwich.
Because of its inherent charm and character, the Spinnaker Bar & Restaurant is the place to eat and socialise in Dunmore East.
1. Heat the butter in a pot and add carrots & onions.
2. When the butter is completely melted, mix in the flour with a wooden spoon, cook out flour for 2 minutes, stirring continuously.
3. Add wine & cook for another 2 minutes.
4. Whisk in milk and cream then place lid on saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes the base thickens.
5. Add stock cube and some dried dill.
6. Add fish and cook for 6-8 minutes until fish is cooked.
INGREDIENTS - Serves 4
45g of butter
45g of white flour
400ml of milk
50ml white wine
75g of diced carrots
75g of diced onion
300ml of cream
1 stock cube
550g of mixed fish
1 teaspoon of dried dill
A regular haunt while in Dunmore East. The best kept secret is the early bird tenner special. Usually these tenner specials have a pared down version of the full priced options on the menu. Not the Spinnaker - generous portions, nicely plated and hot! Well done - village grub second to none
From the outset we were made to feel incredibly welcome by you and your friendly staff at the Spinnaker. You greeted guests persoanally at the door and your bar-staff greeted us as we arrived in to the Dry Dock – a detail of service that did not go unnoticed.
Christmas Party there was a blast, but a great venue all year round for personal and corporate outings.
The Spinnaker Bar & Restaurant provides local residents and visitors alike with a warm, comfortable, enjoyable, and quality experience. Terrific food and excellent service focused on the customer makes it a wonderful place to visit, and provides genuine value-for-money.
